2025 is almost over for us here at Amik Outposts! Our last fishermen are gone home and we are starting the best time of the year on Monday. Moose Season is almost here.
This was a great season, our guests were happy and fishing was very good. Lots of good numbers of fish were caught and plenty of big ones. Honestly we would not say it was the best fishing we have ever seen but still very good in the big scheme of things. In our 31 years of experience when the water is low and there is not much fresh water flowing through our lakes, the fishing is a bit different compared to years where the water is high and the rains are more frequent.
The difficult part was battling the smoke and the low water levels. We had more delays than normal but were always able to get everyone moved safely when Mother Nature allowed us to. 2026 bookings are looking good already, we do have some availability left but we are booking up nicely.
As soon as each camp is done with fishermen, we get straight to work. Getting the big jobs done before moose hunting while the weather is better. We took on a big job at Cobham Morley this year. A brand new 100 foot crib dock is finished and all ready for next year. Shearstone also has a new boat ramp, Jeanette and Vee lake each had a new boat house built as well as lots of staining and brush clearing. We are happy to say that all of the big jobs are done before moose hunting and we can concentrate on the task at hand. Hunting and guiding.
We would like to thank all of our guests who made 2025 a great year and for their patience during the smoke and bad weather delays. We do our best to get everyone moved safely and in as much of a timely manner as we can.
Here are a few pictures from some of our work projects we accomplished this fall.

The boys got to come and help do some of the jobs this year, they learn more out working with us than they do in school. They cannot wait until they are old enough to moose hunt. :)
