Spring has finally made it’s way into the north. Melting more and more each day with the exception of a snow storm occasionally, but this is about a normal time of year for spring to show up. There is plenty of snow to melt yet but that should be just prefect for the water levels. Aaron and I have all of our docks in good shape and the camps are all pretty much ready to go when our floats hit the water. A good cleaning, a few jobs, test the motors and we will be ready for our guests!

Hockey is over for the year. This will probably be the only year that Jack and George will play on the same team. Jack improved a ton this year, has become a great skater and scored plenty of goals! George went from doing snow angels to scoring goals as well. They love hockey but are more interested in fishing and being outside. Being around your friends and being in the dressing room is just as important. :)

Aaron, Taina and the boys have been fishing a lot and spring is a great time of year in the north. The ice stays perfect for quite awhile as the snow is melting. It is easy to get around on the snowmobile, you can fish outside with out a shelter and the fish are usually biting like crazy. Once spring comes it is generally very sunny and you can get a great tan on your face. :)
The boys are landing their own fish now but they also know how to have a good time when the fish aren’t biting. Making snow men or stepping into open holes and getting wet.

Aaron has a love for catching Lake Trout and has been out fishing for them on Red Lake as well as some of the other lakes within reach of the base and has done very well. He took Taina and the boys out to Trout Lake the other day which is an hour snowmobile ride. They caught one and had a couple others on but at least they didn’t get skunked!

4th of July Special!
2025 is filling up and looking like we will be as busy or busier than last season! We are filling holes and we have mostly 3 and 4 day trips available at this time. The 4th of July is our only slower time of year for our American guests and July 1st is Canada Day which makes it a hard sell to our Canadian guests as well. We have a few open spots and would like to fill some of these holes. If you can get a minimum group of 4 fishermen together and would like to spend your 4th of July in the bush slaughtering walleye and pike here is the price. $995 per person for either the 3 or 4 day trip! If you have a group of 6 or more fishermen, please call for pricing.
The fishing at this time of year is spectacular! The fish are usually just starting to move into the weeds and are found along the edges of the weed beds and in the deeper cabbage weeds that are normally just reaching the surface. This is a great time of year to fish.
If you would like to fill one of these spots please Email amikoutposts@gmail.com or Call us at 807-735-9968 for more information. Here is what we have open at this time.
