Mother Nature didn’t wait long to take the last step into fall. We went from nice sunshine to a 2 day rain then to a week of unsettled rain filled afternoon showers followed by a foggy mornings. We had lots of fishermen trapped in the bush and lots of fishermen waiting here in Red Lake for the weather to clear enough so we could fly. It is not uncommon for a one night delay on a flyin fishing trip but this time we had 2 camps that were delayed 2 days! It has been at least 5 years since the weather was that bad. All of our guests on both ends were great and we moved them safely as soon as we could. It is all part of being in a remote area, and gives you some stories to tell when you get back.
Here are some pictures from the Cox party who had 2 extra days at Cobham Morley.
The weather in the background begins to change, but the fishing stayed great!
Then 2 days later, the plane showed up to pick them up.
One thing we can’t do is control the weather. If you are delayed on either end of your fishing trip just remember one thing…you are on vacation 🙂
