It remains warm and sunny up here and as warm as it is, the walleyes are anywhere from 5 feet to 20 feet of water. I spent the night at Cherrington last night and caught lots of fish in the evening. Mostly in 8 feet on the edge of and right in the weed beds. The Findlay fishermen were catching big ones in 30 feet, out in the middle of the lake. The Cobham River fishermen came out saying how aggressive the walleye were, the 5 of diamonds was a great walleye lure! The fish are where you find them. The big pike are slowly becoming more active as we get closer to fall and the days get shorter.
The Ramel family made the decision to make the trek from California to Red Lake and then on to Shearstone Lake for a family vacation. Urs had has hands full but they came out with huge smiles and big fish stories. 4 in a boat, lines and hooks everywhere, fish on, a good time that will never be forgotten. Here are some of the nice fish they caught on Sheartone Lake.
