The ice is building fast this year, we are still in a bit of a drought here on the prairies. Not much snow yet and a roller coaster of temperatures! Cold for a few days and a strong north wind followed by a strong south wind and a warm up to above freezing. We don’t lose any ice and should be up to a foot soon. Then the Bombardier comes out and the work load lessens. Here is a video of our 1970 something Moto-ski spirit. A single cylinder legend of the north. No sliders to lubricate, only boggies. This type of ski-doo was the original workhorse of the north. It can run long distances on top of frozen snow or ice, not needing any snow like modern snowmobiles. Perfect for hauling fish to shore!!
Here is a video scooting across the ice on the lake.
