Today we finished pulling our last nets out of Lake Manitoba. We have had some very unseasonably warm weather lately and the snow is almost gone. Sure wet and gross out on the lake.

There is still over 3 feet of ice left out there and solid as can be. It takes quite awhile for the ice to leave. As long as there is snow cover, it will last much longer.

Fishing is over. Next time I write about this massive fresh water lake, we will be walking on top of 2 inches of ice!!!

This weekend we will be hosting a Provincial Bantam (14-15) Female Hockey championship in our rink in Lundar. We put a team together from Ashern, Eriksdale, Lundar and St Laurent. I think we should have a shot this year at playing for a medal. A small number of players but quality and experience rich. I am the coach, Maija is playing for us and Rena is the tournament chair. A real family affair, not too different than our summer months.
