Canadian Fly In Fishing
Canadian Fly In Fishing

It has been Great so far!

We have been seeing lots of happy people!  Fishing has been very good, the weather has been pretty consistent, and everything around the camps has been running smooth.  We have gotten a few rains to maintain water levels as well.  Life is pretty good 🙂

Here are some pictures from our guests who have been up recently.

The Achterkirch party went on their first flyin to Blackbirch Lake.  They are HOOKED.  Lots of beauty walleye and some awesome sunsets.

Walt and his Family have fished a few of our lakes in the past few years and this year they stayed at Cobham Morley.  They had an awesome trip.  Great family time and some superb fishing.  A good combination 🙂

Looking Good for an Early Breakup!!

Spring has arrived in full effect and it looks good for a slightly early break up!  That would be great to have ample time to get all of our camps ready for a busy season.  The arrival of spring should bring all of the fish to spawn early and then begin the transition into normal patterns right when our guests are scheduled to begin!  Fishing is always awesome but in the spring it all has to do with water temperature, with an early ice out we should not have to wait for the water to warm up this year!

We have a couple of May dates left for this season. Here are some dates for you to consider.

Blackbirch May 26-June 1

Loree Lake May 18-25

Cobham Morley May 19-23

Just an update on our reservation/info request form.  We have been receiving spam from the robots that crawl on our site.  At the bottom of the form you will notice we will request that you type in the numbers or letters as you see them.  It is easy to read, unlike many and is necessary for us to filter spam.  You can also email us directly: amik@frontiernet.net

Bait

Our bait supplier has run out of leeches early this year and we cannot get them in Red Lake.  We have contacted some of the bigger bait shops along your route and they are happy to take your order directly.  You would have to stop on your way up and pick it up yourself.  I don’t know prices but they said they had a good supply for the rest of the season.

Fort Frances: Rainy Lake Sports, Phone:(807) 274-6429

Vermillion Bay: Bobby’s Corner (Shell station) Phone:(807) 227-2099

Ear Falls: 4 Seasons Bait Shop Phone:(807) 222-2200

There are other bait shops along the way but these are the ones I have talked to.  They can help you with crawlers and leeches.

If you would like frozen minnows as bait we do have those at our base in Red Lake, we can also get you live minnows if you are going to Jeanette Lake or Darkwater Lake.
