In the last 2 weeks we have gone from having most of our camps full to having our last group in the bush. The boys and I have been busy closing camps and doing some work on the camps. Here are some from Cobham Morley. We leveled, raised and put new stringers. The weather rained us out for a couple of hours everyday but we had some nice weather midday to get the water work done.
The fire gave us something to do in the rain at least.
Hammering 12 inch spikes all day lets your arms and hands know that they have had a workout.
The weather has been tough lately but there has been some beautiful days where the sights make all the crappy days worth while.
Then back up north to close some more camps in the wet weather. We also rebuilt most of the Vee Lake dock.
As quick as the boys could skin logs I was assembling and a day and a half later we had it done.
The red sun came true as we battled mother nature again but had no place to be and work to be done where we were. We did many odd jobs around the Vee Lake cabin as we closed it for the season.
I will be busy moose hunting soon 🙂 If you want to keep in touch with what is happening as I briefly come back to the base from the bush, add us on Twitter @amikoutposts as a friend on Facebook Amik Outposts or Instagram search for Johnnyfishguts.
