It has cooled of nicely in the last week but along with the cooler weather came some unsettled weather. Changes in wind direction and the barometer has been moving up and down like a yo-yo. This brought some days that our fishermen had to go out and find the fish. Walleye fishing was good with our guests catching many up to 27 inches. The Pike fishing slowed down last week but as always there were a number over 40 inches caught and released.
Here are some of the pictures from our guests recently.
The Runion party came all the way from West Virginia with their boys and had a blast on Jeanette Lake. Although they forgot their depth finder they caught lots of walleye despite never having caught one before going to Jeanette. They had no trouble catching fish and learned a lot. Next time they will catch twice as many fish I bet. Right out from the cabin they caught a 27, 24 and a 23 inch walleye!
Dark Water had the Novotny party fish it last week and this was the year for David. Fishing with us since he was a teenager, he has caught a lot of fish on his trips with us. David had his personal best on walleye and pike this year! David caught and released a 41 inch Trophy Pike and a 26 inch walleye.
The Helseth Party made the journey to Cherrington Lake. They caught many nice fish. Please read the caption below the last picture. Definately the story of the week.
One lake in particular that had exceptional fishing was Findlay Lake. The walleyes were absolutely nuts. The Nepstad party has been fishing in Canada for 25 years and Matt told me when he left that he had never seen anything like it. They caught DOZENS OF WALLEYE THAT MEASURED 25 INCHES!!! 2-28’s 2-27’s 1-27.5 and 2-26’s. Please remember that they have lots of experience fishing northern lakes. We here that quite often from new people who have fished elsewhere with other outfitters. Our conservation policy that has been in place since the very beggining on most of our lakes works!!!
