We had another great week of fishing this year. I think the first three days were probably the best three days ever with total fish caught of 359 on Sunday, 426 on Monday, and 582 on Tuesday. After the rain storms in the middle of the week and some of the very sunny, still and warm days in the middle of the week, things kind of slowed down a little, but we still caught 368 on Wednesday, 233 on Thursday, 276 on Friday, and 351 on Saturday. All in all, not too bad for a group of five that included one person who had never fished at the lake. We also caught a lot of big fish. We caught 22 walleyes larger than 21 inches and too many walleyes to count that were between 18 inches and 21 inches. We try to only eat walleyes that are 16 inches or smaller and sometimes it was hard to catch fish small enough to eat. The northern fishing was also very good this year. Our two newest fishermen, including one rookie, each caught 39 inch northerns. Although we did not catch any 40 inch northerns this year, we caught 15 were bigger than 34 inches. We stopped counting, but got many that were between 30 and 32 inches.
We will see you again next June if not sooner.
Best regards,
Dave
