Hard to believe but summers days are running out!
The weeks just fly by. Approaching the middle of August, summer has gone by too fast so far. It is getting to be that time of year when I get to spend some time in the bush! The camps will be having a variety of jobs done to them from now until October. Hopefully I will find myself some time to catch a few fish 😉
Fishing has been great as always at Amik Outposts, although the Huge walleyes have not been as active as normal. Numbers of fish have been very good and finding them has been easy too, with the exception of Findlay last week. Walleyes measuring up to 26 inches have been reported on a number of lakes and Loree lake had a 29 inch walleye caught and released recently. Walleyes have been in 18 to 32 feet. I fished on the Cobham Last night and caught a couple of 30 inch pike in 30 feet of water, so the bigger pike could be deep as well.
Here are some pictures from some first time flyin fishermen. They had an awesome time and will be back! They caught some big fish, saw some beautiful sights in a pristine environment and relaxed.

"You are not going to catch a fish on that!" "Just watch me"
Thanks for the pictures guys. See you at the sportshow in Minneapolis in the spring.

Sorry to read about the guys at Findlay. Six of us were in the week before and boated 150 – 175 fish to 25″ before breakfast. Early ice out produced pretty warm water this year and the fish were mostly concentrated in 18′ – 30′ around deep water but they were there. To any considering a trip with AMIK, be sure you bring a sonar.
Very nice Pike & Walleye, how is the Lake trout fishing on Cherrington?
