It has been a crazy month since we arrived in Red Lake. Here are some pictures of our spring.  We will be posting more often soon.

This is the inside of the Blackbirch Lake cabin.  Not roughing it too much eh.

This is one of our dockhands Cody.  John had to land on Kirkness Lake because of bad weather and was there for almost 2 hours floating around.  Cody is sleeping on an outboard motor tied on top of a propane fridge.  His seat is down by his feet.  

Some things going on for us in the near future are,  Maija is going to go fishing and spend the night up north with John.  To avoid a dead head trip they are going to go take a group of fisherman in to Cherrington and take a group from Vee lake the next morning.  Maybe Maija will beat dad at cribbage.  Taina is going to fly home in June for her Confirmation.  Our friend Anne Marie is going to be her sponsor.  She flew home last summer for her class trip, so this is not the first time she has traveled alone.  On the way home she goes on the Northern Milk Run.  This is a scenic tour of Deer Lake, Sandy Lake, Poplar Hill, and Pikangikum Reservations.  At least she doesn’t have to get off the plane.
